兄弟棋牌Canada has become the first country to say they will not send athletes to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo due to the coronavirus pandemic, should the Games go on as scheduled.
Additionally, the Canadian Olympic Committee is calling for a one-year postponement of the Games. Team Canada announced the decision in a press release on Sunday.
"Postpone today, conquer tomorrow," reads a new slogan posted by Team Canada on Twitter.
The IOC announced in an open letter on Sunday that they would use the next four weeks to determine if the Games would or would not be postponed. Prior to Canada’s decision to pull out, many athletes and organizations had called for a postponement.
This decision obviously caught Canadians by surprise, and shortly after Canada's announcement, Australia's Olympic Committee followed suit. Here’s how people reacted on social media.
